I adopted a virtual Squillion from the Cat Blogosphere!

We are so happy to welcome them as a part of our family! We are gonna take very good care of them, just as daddy and mommy take very good care of us. Oh, except we will NEVER ABANDON them unlike a certain daddy and mommy....

Thank you to KC and Sanjee for our virtual Squillions. We iz so happy!

Family Photo Friday: Not again!!!

Oh no!!! Mommy and daddy are leaving us AGAIN for some place called Ottawa for mommy's conference, and then they are taking the rest of the week to go to some other place called Quebec City!

All we can do now is watch them drive away and be sad. Oh, and sneak on da computer for tomorrow's Photo Hunters post, hehehe!

But we won't get to go online and read our furriends' bloggies and chat and have fun! What shall we do all week???

Good-bye my furriends, see you next week...we will miss you.

Thursday 13: Why I'm better than Kiri Te Kanawa

I'm very upset, kitties. I guess I wasn't usin' my laser eyes right yesterday, coz mommy and daddy rushed home today from work....only to leave us to see some ladybean called Kiri Te Kanawa. What's so gurreat about her anyways?? So what if it's her farewell tour???

So, for this week's Thursday 13, I want to remind mommy why *I* am better than her:

1. She can sing...so can I!! And Donny does it even better!

2. So what she can sing opera...so can I - see??

3. She sings for a living...so do I, I sing for my meals!!

4. She apparently has a gift of capitivating audiences...well, heck - so do I!! Everyone is captivated right away by my blue eyes and cutesy charm.

5. She has been given many awards over her life....but you should check out all my awards from all my furriends!! They are all along the sidebar towards the bottom of my webpage. And it's not even a year!

6. They said she was beautiful and looked so young, although she is already 63. Well, I'm over 2 years old now, and I think I still look much like a kitten...wouldn't you agree??

7. She's been on TV tons of time...well, I've been in tons and tons of photos already. I think you could consider us equally famous, right?

8. She sings in lots of different languages...but I can sing in lots of different tones and sounds too!

9. She sang at some big swanky wedding....but I got to be a BRIDESMAID in a big swanky wedding!

10. She has an international career...I don't NEED an international anything to make me feel loved and adored and have all my needs and wants met, I can get it all right here at home!

11. With an international career, she's travelled to lots of places...but I can travel ANYPLACE, ANYTIME, thanks to pawesome instructions on da Cat Blogosphere about teleportin'!

12. She was adopted as an infant...well, so was I when I was adopted - only 3 months old!!- and already I was very adorable!!

13. Most of all, she may have many, many fans...but me, I have many, many furriends...and if you ask me, furriends are more important than fans!!

Ok, well, maybe she *is* a truly wonderful opera singer...mommy keeps gushing on and on about her...but *I* still think that mommy could have spent some more time with us!! Wouldn't you agree???

Anyways, Happy Thursday, everyone and everykitty!

Happy Wednesday, kitties!! Please don't mind me while I glare at mommy!

Thursday 13: Fun Facts Meme!

Mr. Chen and Ollie tagged me and Donny and Tazo of The Furry Kids tagged just me for a meme. As it took us some time, we put this meme as our Thursday 13 for this week. Here are the rules for this meme:

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. Write some facts about yourself: some random, some weird, some just plain fun.

3. Tag 7 cats (or whutever) at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).

4. Let those 7 know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.
The challenge is to keep it interesting without making the reader think “Um, too much information."

So, here is our Thursday 13 list of fun facts about us:

1. We were adopted as a "2-for-1" deal: that is, mommy asked to see one, she and daddy got two to hold...and voila! we were adopted together!!

2. We have been play-fighting every day ever since we came to our furever home.

3. We had to live with Auntie V for 2 wks when mommy and daddy both had major surgeries: so that mommy could get a kidney transplant that was donated by daddy.

4. We prefer different toys: Donny likes anything with features, and I prefer noisy rolling balls.

5. I used to be fearless...and Donny, well, let's just say that he's a "sensitive" cat.

6. We both prefer chicken over any other kind of meat....

7. ...except salmon. And temptations.

8. We enjoy making furriends with birdies. *drool*

9. I like to whine and whine; Donny likes to save his up into one big melancholy cry.

10. We both think Casey's tail is so much fun to play with!!

11. Our favourite purrson is Mommy.

12. We both love da outdoors...in da backyard, of course!!

13. I like to play spazz games by myself; Donny prefers to spazz on Casey instead.

We don't know who HASN'T done this meme already....so if you haven't....TAG, YOU'RE IT!!!

Happy Thursday 13 everyone and everykitty!

Mancat Monday: Side-by-Side-Profiles

This past Saturday, my sensei, Mickey Mantle, showed an excellent side-profile to show the resemblance to his name-sake, the Mickey Mantle of the New York Yankees (hope you don't mind, sensei!):

As his protege, I kinda resemble my sensei from da side-view....doncha think so??

Happy Mancat Monday, kitties!! And Happy Birthday to Skeezix!

For this week's Photo Hunters, the theme was plastic. So we picked this:

It's on da dashboard of their car, it's called a speed-o-meter and it's FULL of plastic!! There is clear plastic and white plastic and black plastic. There is pointy plastic and round plastic. There are even plastic with numbers and plastic with letters. It's pawesomely purrfectly plastic!!

Fierce Furry Friday

Here's me being fierce in look, protecting my furry catnip mousie from Casey and ESPECIALLY Donny. He is always spoiling my fun by trying to take my toys and picking fights with me.

This picture is a continuing confirmation of living up to my nickname "The Defender". Wouldn't you agree?

William of Mass Destruction
gave me this wonderful award! It is beautiful and I'm so glad that I got it! Thanks William!!

I think almost everykitty has got this award now...but if you haven't, I know you deserve it! Everykitty in da cat blogosphere deserves this award!

Happy Friday, kitties! We are looking forward to mommy and daddy being with us 24/7 again this weekend after working all week!

Thursday 13: Mayne Island

Last month, mommy and daddy went to Vancouver for a vacation. As part of that trip, they went to Mayne Island to meet with daddy's gma (our great-gma!!). For this week's Thursday Thirteen, we picked some random photos of their trip there:

1. To get to Mayne Island, you have to take a ferry. Both mommy and daddy loves the ferry coz they grew up going on the ferry to fun places for day trips like Victoria. On the ferry, daddy got very excited when he saw his favourite landmark on Mayne Island, the lighthouse:

2. Once daddy and mommy met his gma at the ferry terminal, they proceeded right away to the lighthouse:

3. This lighthouse was a very important lighthouse at the time. It was so important, that the residents on Mayne Island got together and built a memorial to this lighthouse:

4. For years, the lighthouse helped large ships like this BC Ferry (that is the kind of ferry mommy and daddy were on) navigate this channel, so that they did not get too close to either Mayne Island or Galiano Island on the other side and run aground:

5. Before they left the lighthouse park, daddy noticed this cute tree standing out on its own point in the park. He also noticed the two sailboats in the ocean (background), which made him jealous:

6. Next, they went to the Japanese Garden. It is a big and beautiful park full of all kinds of trees and shrubs and flowers in a zen-like garden, with streams and bridges and benches. There were many, many flower photos that they took, but this structure in the Garden was very intriguing:

7. After that, they went to Oyster Bay. It is a bay that is shaped like an oyster, and it has a little rocky island, which is on the right hand side of the photo. It is a special bay, because the wind will from little caves in the rock. These caves can only be seen during low tide. Even though they couldn't see any caves, they still enjoyed the picturesque beauty:

8. Then they went to Campbell Bay. Daddy wanted to go there to see the pebble beach. He said he remembered the trail down to the beach was very steep and narrow, but now the Island maintains that trail, widening it and putting with a set of stairs to get from the bottom of the trail to the beach. There was a fishing boat in this bay, and daddy explained that there were lots of fish around the island, that's why:

9. Then they went to a park, which had a very long trail out to a beautiful point. Daddy took this picture when he was almost at the point. You can barely see it in the middle of the picture (you may have to biggify), but you can see Mount Baker:

10. Here is another picture daddy took near the point. Mayne Island is in fact one of a group of island between the Vancouver mainland and Vancouver Island. This group is called the Gulf Islands.

11. When they got tired, they wen to their bed and breakfast which was in Miner's Bay. It is the two story dark brown building to the right of the brick house in the middle of the picture:

12. They really liked the room that they were staying in, because it was on the 2nd storey and it had a huge window which overlooked Miner's Bay. Daddy took this picture just as it was turning dusk:

13. This is daddy and mommy on Mayne Island. They had such a gurreat time there, as you can see by their big smiles. They want to come back again.

And that was their trip to Mayne Island!

Happy Thursday, everykitty and everyone!

Saturday Photo Hunters: Music

For mommy, the gentle roll of the waves to the sand at Spanish Banks Beach in Vancouver is the sound of music to her ears. She misses this "music" very much, now that she has lived in landlocked Calgary for over 10 years.

What's music to us kitties? The best music would be the shaka-shaka-shaka of that tasty bag of Temptations!!! Ooooh - do we run ever so fast!!

Happy Saturday everyone and everykitty!!

White Wednesday

So for the past two weeks, all I could do was mope and dream of my dearest wonderfullest Ramses. I missed him very much, as you can see in this picture. I was very, very sad, and I almost had tears rolling down to my pink nose.

But now that I am back, I am so happy to be teleportin' to da sunroom and be with my Ramses!

Happy Wednesday, kitties!

Terrible Tuesday: Vishus Deer Alert

NOTE: Kittens and "tender young juicy" cats should avert their eyes from the picture below!!!!

So sorry about our sudden disappearance for two weeks. Mommy got busy at work and then has been out of town the last couple of weekends to see family and take a much needed vacation, so she's had no time for us to be online. We were very sad we couldn't get on, coz we missed all of you.

But we are back now...and unfortunately with the most frightful news!

You see, our mommy and daddy went away this long weekend to a place called Waterton, to which place they go every year for a short weekend vacation. They liked the place a lot, and they said they had a lot of fun, canoeing and golfing and walking along the lakeshore.

They also saw a lot of deer in the townsite. A lot of them. They were EVERYWHERE. They boldly grazed on the front lawns while the humans were nearby watering their flowers. They hung out in the shade in the backyard as the humans were there sipping beer. They strolled the streets with their fawns, as if they too were doing some Saturday shopping.

And then mommy and daddy came back to their lodge one afternoon and discovered that the lodge had a new resident relaxing in the shade of the lodge (avert your eyes now, little ones!):

Daddy walked up real close to him (maybe 5 ft?) to take the picture with his cellphone. He was a young buck...but already he's been sharpening his antlers, as you can see by what's left of the dangling velvet that used to cover his antlers - to see biggify the picture above. Mommy was in a bit of a panic. And of course we freaked when we saw the picture....

If you ever doubted that the vishus deer are planning WORLD DOMINATION...here is irrefutable proof. Right in this townsite in the Waterton Lakes National Park! Skeezix, help us! What can we do to stop this???
