Saturday Photo Hunters: Art

Today's theme for Saturday Photo Hunters is art. Since I can't produce any art, I want to show you the universally favourite quilt that mommy bought last summer at a quilt fair just outside of the city:

This quilt comes out during the warm months and spread on mommy and daddy's bed. We like to lay on it and sometimes even make biscuits on it. Mommy discourages us from making biscuits on this quilt....I don't understand.....

Here is the main quilt pattern. She loves how the greens and purples (well...more burgundy actually) complement each other so well. She is envious of the great skills of the ladies that make these quilts. She can't sew worth beans.

She took a picture of the border of the quilt. She loved the many colours in it that fit with the main quilt pattern. She says the border gives the quilt a fall harvest theme.

Mommy believes that quilting is truly an art.

Happy Weekend, everykitty!

That is a truly beautiful quilt. I agree with your Mommy that quilt making is an art. I can understand why Mommy doesn't want you making biscuits on it; your claws might snag the material. Thanks for the nice comment you left on my blog. I'll be adding you to my blogroll.

Yes, quilting is an art. Our Mommies Grandmother made quilts until she was in her late 90's. Our Mommie made a baby quilt when she was pregnant with the girl bean. It was a double wedding ring.

Yes, quilting IS an art! And art I wish I knew more of how to succeed in any kind of attempt by me. But alas, no go Joe on my quilting.

This is pretty! Love the colors used.

I think that quilting is one of those arts that requires an awful lot of precision and patience.

That's a gorgeous quilt you've got there!

Oh Marie, that is such a beautiful quilt!! I can see why your mommy loves it so, and why she doesn't want you making biscuits on it. Don't worry that you don't understand... it's a 'human thing'. Just humor your mommy and make your biscuits only in the designated biscuit area... that will make your mommy happy and in turn she will give you more of what makes you happy. It's a win-win situation. :o)

Everyone is invited to my Art Exhibition. Hope to see you there.

That is quite a work of art. Mommy says it takes more that sewing, one has to have an "eye" for these things, that's why Mommy can't do them. I told she has two eyes, but she just laughed at me.

HI MARIE!!! I am sowly getting around to visiting all of my friends! I will make it a point of commenting more often!

My Mommy agrees, quilting is an art! She loves quilts! For years she has been working on a coverlet called "Cathedral Windows." Since she doesn't know how to sew, she's been doing it by hand when she has time.

I hope you have a super fantastic week!!!
